BLACK CATBIRD, 1752 AVENIDA LICIENCIADO PEDRO JOAQUIN COLDWELL, COZUMAL, QUINTANA ROO, MEXICO, 12/10/2024 - NEW SPECIES TO LIFE LIST

   We can ID this bird as a Black Catbird as follows:
  • It was identified as a Black Catbird by Merlin photo ID.
  • Glossy black plumage.
  • Black bill that is shorter than the head (you can see this in the profile in 2nd photo).
  • Brown eyes (you can see this in first photo).
   The Black Catbird is endemic to the Yucatan Peninsula, including Mexico, northern Guatemala and northern Belize.  It is a new species to our ebird Photographic Life List.
