   This Emperor Goose is probably an escapee or has been let loose from captivity.  The Emperor Goose is found in remote coastal areas near the Bering Sea in arctic and sub-arctic Alaska and Russian Far East, where it breeds.  It migrates south to winter in ice-free mudflats and coasts in Alaska, mostly the Aleutian Islands and Canada's British Columbia.

WILD HECK CATTLE, OOSTVAARDERSPLASSEN, FLEVOLAND, NETHERLANDS, 7/23/2024

   Heck cattle were introduced into the Oostvaardersplassen in 1983.  Heck cattle are a hardy, rustic breed that are easy to care for and have low nutrient requirements.  It is a massive and robust creature that can live outside all year round.  They can cope with temperatures as low as - 30 C.
