TWO DOUBLE-CRESTED CORMORANTS ON A RED MANGROVE TREE, MARSH TRAIL, TEN THOUSAND ISLANDS NATIONAL WILDLIFE REFUGE, NAPLES, FLORIDA, 11/25/2023

   I wasn't aware of this, but in determining that this was a red mangrove tree, I found out that the red mangrove is an evergreen tree.



 

GREAT EGRET & GREAT BLUE HERON, MARSH TRAIL, TEN THOUSAND ISLANDS NATIONAL WILDLIFE REFUGE, NAPLES, FLORIDA, 11/25/2023

   At first the Great Egret and Great Blue Heron were very close to one another on the same or very nearby trees (first photo).   Then the Great Blue Heron flew to a another, farther away tree (second & third photos) and finally flew away altogether (fourth photo).  Later on the Great Egret flew away and settled on a clump of grass in the water (last photo).

   The first photo shows a male Anhinga and the second photo shows a female.
