The Cattle Egret has been split into two species: the Western Cattle Egret and the Eastern Cattle Egret. This Cattle Egret is a Western Cattle Egret. The split of the Cattle Egret into two species increases our ebird Life List to 1,082.

MALLARD, MOTTLED DUCKS, DOUBLE-CRESTED CORMORANT & ROSEATE SPOONBILL, LELY RESORT ALONG U.S. 41, 10/27/2023
The male Mallard is the second duck from left, in between the two Mottle Duck. The Double-crested Cormorant is on the lower right of the photo and the Roseate Spoonbill is on the upper right.
