FASCIATED TIGER-HERON, GUACIMO RIVER, HOTEL LOS RIOS, GUACIMO, LIMON PROVINCE, COSTA RICA, 10/7/2022 - NEW SPECIES # 1,056 TO LIFE LIST
We can ID this heron as a Fasciated Tiger-Heron as follows:
- Habitat is perfect for this heron: fast flowing, rocky river
- Dark, thick bill with bright yellow skin at base of lower mandible
- White stripe running up neck
- Overall gray and brownish with thin whitish and pale stripes
The Fasciated Tiger-Heron is a new species to our Photographic Life List, which now stands at 1,056.

We can ID this swallow as a Blue-and-White Swallow as follows:
- White with gray wash underparts
- Small size
- You can just make some color on the wings: violet-blue
- short tail, slightly forked
- Black undertail coverts
The Blue-and-White Swallow is a new species to our Photographic Life List, which now stands at 1,055.
