AGAMI HERON, CAHUITA NATIONAL PARK ENTRANCE, LIMON PROVINCE, COSTA RICA, 10/6/2022
We can ID this heron as a Agami Heron as follows:
- Very long, thin bill
- Pale blue crown
- Dark face with whitish chin and pale eye ring
- Long irredescent violet and dark blue neck with light blue feathers at bottom
- Irredescent dark blue, light blue and violet upperparts
The Agami Heron is a new species to our Photographic Life List, which now stands at 1,054.
