MALE HOOK-BILLED KITE, UJARRAS NORTE, AJENJAL, CARTAGO PROVINCE, COSTA RICA, 10/4/2022 - NEW SPECIES # 1,050 TO LIFE LIST
We can ID this raptor as a male Hook-billed Kite as follows:
- Very large, hooked bill
- Pale iris
- Yellow-orange legs
- Greenish-yellow cere and lore
- Dark gray underpants with horizontal whitish streaks
- Lighter gray throat
The Hook-billed Kite is a new species to our Photographic Life List, which now stands at 1,050.
