Just after the last photo, I was running to get a photo of a bird. I fell and wasn't hurt, but my camera fell on me. The shock to the camera broke it in some way. So from this photo on, all the photos were taken either by digiscoping with my cell phone or directly with my cell phone. I would like to thank our birding guide, Ernesto Carman, for his help in taking the digiscoping photos.

RUDDY-CAPPED NIGHTINGALE-THRUSH, CASA TANGARA DOWII RESERVE, CARTAGO, COSTA RICA, 10/2/2022 - NEW SPECIES # 1,041 TO LIFE LIST
Even though the photo is blurred, we can ID this bird as a Ruddy-capped Nightingale-Thrush as follows:
- Rufous cap
- Gray underparts
- Brownish upperparts
The Rudy-capped Nightingale-Thrush is a new species to our Photographic Life List, which now stands at 1,041.
COMMON CHLOROSPINGUS, CASA TANGARA DOWII RESERVE, CARTAGO, COSTA RICA, 10/2/2022 - NEW SPECIES # 1,040 TO LIFE LIST
We can ID this bird as a Common Chlorospingus as follows:
- Gray head with prominent triangular white spot behind the eye
- Pale yellow on chest, sides and flanks
- Yellowish-olive above, as much as we can see
The Common Chlorospingus is a new species to our Photographic Life List, which now stands at 1,040.
BLACK-CHEEKED WARBLER, CASA TANGARA DOWII RESERVE, CARTAGO, COSTA RICA, 10/2/2022 - NEW SPECIES # 1039 TO LIFE LIST
Even though this is not good photo, we can still ID this warbler as a Black-cheeked Warbler as follows:
- Small grayish bird
- Black face with bold white eyebrow
The Black-cheeked Warbler is a new species to our Photographic Life List, which now stands at 1,039.
