MALE WILSON'S WARBLER, ROSETTA MCCLAIN GARDENS, SCARBOROUGH, TORONTO, ONTARIO, 9/16/2022 - NEW SPECIES #1033A
We can identify this warbler as an adult male Wilson's Warbler as follows:
- Olive-yellow upperparts
- Bright yellow underparts
- Distinctive black crown patch
- Large black eyes that stand out against bright yellow faces
- Small size
- Small, thin bill
Wilson's Warbler breeds from Alaska eastward to Newfoundland, Ontario and Nova Scotia and south along the west coast to southern California. It spends the winters from extreme southern California and the Gulf coast south into Mexico.
Wilson's Warbler is a new species to our Photographic Life List, which now stands at 1,033A.
