MALE MACGILLIVRAY'S WARBLER, POWERLINE TRAIL, GROUSE MOUNTAIN, NORTH VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA, 6/12/2022 - PHOTOGRAPHIC LIFE LIST SPECIES # 1,030
We can.ID this warbler as a male MacGillivray's Warbler as follows:
- Gray head with darker gray and mottled throat
- Bold white eye crescents (above and below eye)
- Black patch between eye and bill
- Yellow underparts
- We can't see very much of the upperparts, but what we can see is olive
MacGillivray's Warbler is a new species to our Photographic Life List, which now stands at 1,030.
MALE WESTERN TANAGER, POWERLINE TRAIL, GROUSE MOUNTAIN, NORTH VANCOUVER, 6/12/2022 - PHOTOGRAPHIC LIFE LIST SPECIES # 1,029
We can ID this bird as a male Western Tanager as follows:
- Orange head blending into yellow
- Black back with two wing bars: upper wing bar is yellow and lower wingbars is white
- Bright yellow underparts
- Black tail
The Western Tanager is a new species to our Photographic Life List, which now stands at 1,029.
