We can ID these gulls as Glaucous-winged Gulls as follows:
- White head and underparts.
- Pale gray mantle. This differentiates the Glaucous-winged Gull from the Herring Gull and Western Gull, both of which have darker gray mantles.
- Pale gray wingtips, similar in color to the mantle.. This also differentiates the Glaucous-winged Gull from the Herring Gull and most other gulls which have dark wing tips.
- Yellow bill with a red spot ( chicks peck at this spot to simulate regurgitive feeding) near the end of the bill.
- Pink legs.
