ALDER FLYCATCHER, COLONEL SAMUEL SMITH PARK,ETOBICOKE,TORONTO,ONTARIO, 6/7/2021
Merlin Photo ID app identified this flycatcher as either an Alder Flycatcher or a Willow Flycatcher. The easiest way to differentiate them is by their calls or songs. Unfortunately this flycatcher was neither calling or singing. I do believe this is probably an Alder Flycather because of the following:
- Whitish throat. A strong contrast between face and throat. The Willow Flycatcher has a more grayish throat.
- Brownish olive upperparts. The Willow Flycatcher has more grayish upperparts.
- White eyering. The Willow Flycatcher has a less prominent eyering
