MAGNIFICENT FRIGATEBIRDS DIVING FOR FRESH WATER AT MACKLE POND, MACKLE COMMUNITY PARK,MARCO ISLAND,FLORIDA, 4/7/2021

Unlike most other seabirds, Frigatebirds drink fresh water when they come across it, by swooping down and gulping with their bills.  We have been to Mackle Pond several times this season and each time we have observed Magnificent Frigatebirds diving for fresh water.
