ANHINGA CHICKS & ADULT ANHINGA, WAKODAHATCHEE WETLANDS,DELRAY BEACH,FLORIDA, 3/5/2021

   Sone of the Anhinga chicks are starting to molt into juveniles; you can see the black and white feathers starting to form on their wings.  The adult Anhinga is on the lower right of the fourth, fifth and sixth photos.

GREAT EGRET IN BEAUTIFUL BREEDING PLUMAGE & COURTSHIP COLORS BUILDING A NEST, WAKODAHATCHEE WETLANDS,DELRAY BEACH,FLORIDA, 3/5/2021

   In addition to the beautiful plumes of their breeding plumage, these Great Egrets all have green lores. The egret in the first five photos (see fourth photo) and the one in the last photos have eyes which are beginning to turn red.  The green lores and red eyes are the Great Egrets courtship colors, which only last a short time at the beginning of the nesting cycle.
