RUFOUS-AND-WHITE WREN (THRYOTHORUS RUTILUS), JUAN HOMBRON RD AREA,EL CHIRU,COCLE PROVINCE,PANAMA, 5/24/2019
We can ID this wren as a Rufous-and-White Wren as follows:
- Bright rufous upperparts
- White underparts, including throat
- Dark crown
- Strong white supercilium, dark stripe through eye and black streaking on cheeks
- Darkly barred rufous tail

IMMATURE ZONE-TAILED HAWK (BUTEO ALBONOTATUS), JUAN HOMBRON RD AREA,EL CHIRU,COCLE PROVINCE,PANAMA, 5/24/2019
We can ID this hawk as an immature Zone-tailed Hawk as follows:
- Plumage is mostly blackish, with small white spots on the breast
- Tail is long for a hawk and has gray and black bands, with a black tip
- Cere and legs are yellow
- The lores are gray and there is some white on the face
The Zone-tailed Hawk is a new species to our Photographic Life List, which now stands at 876.
