The Masked Tityra in the first, second and last photo is a male. The Masked Tityra in the third photo (with brown head) is a female.
MISTLETOE TYRANNULET (ZIMMERIUS PARVUS), LA MESA RD,EL VALLE DE ANTON,COCLE PROVINCE,PANAMA, 5/24/2019
We can ID this Tyrant Flycatcher as a Mistletoe Tyrannulet as follows:
- Very small size
- Short stubby black bill
- Gray crown
- No wing bars, but wings have bright yellow edging (see second photo)
- Whitish breast
- Greenish upperparts
- Pale eyebrow
The Mistletoe Tyrannulet is a new species to our Photographic Life List, which now stands at 865.
COLLARED ARACARI (PTEROGLOSSUS TORQUATUS), LA MESA RD,EL VALLE DE ANTON,COCLE PROVINCE,PANAMA, 5/24/2019
We can ID this Toucan as a Collared Aracari as follows:
- Blackish band across yellow underparts. The yellow breast has a red wash.
- Black head with yellow eyes
- Black upperparts
- Upper mandible of bill is dull yellow, marked with a black saw-tooth pattern
- Lower mandible of bill is black
The Collared Aracari is a new species to our Photographic Life List, which now stands at 864.

We can ID this rail as a Grey-necked Wood-Rail as follows:
- Grey head and neck
- Red eyes
- Coral-red legs
- Yellowish bill
- Rufous chest and flanks
The Grey-necked Wood-Rail is a new species to our Photographic Life List, which now stands at 863.

We can ID this hummingbird as a Rufous-tailed Hummingbird as follows:
- Generally green body
- Bright rufous, forked tail with a dusky tip
- Rufous rump
- Pinkish bill
- Dingy greyish-olive belly
The Rufous-tailed Hummingbird is a new species to our Photographic Life List, which now stands at 862.
