AUSTRALASIAN SUBSPECIES OF GREAT CRESTED GREBE (AUSTRALASIAN CRESTED GREBE), LAKE PEARSON, CANTERBURY REGION, SOUTH ISLAND, NEW ZEALAND

   The Great Crested Grebe has three subspecies: the subspecies found in Europe and Asia, the subspecies found in Africa and the Australasian subspecies, photographed below.  We sighted and photographed the African subspecies at Marievale Bird Sanctuary in Johannesburg, South Africa.
