BROWN QUAIL, TIRITIRI MATANGI ISLAND, NEW ZEALAND

   We can ID this quail as a Brown Quail by its small size, reddish-brown color with white streaks and black barring above, black bill and orangish legs.

   The Brown Quail is a new species to our Photographic Life List, which now stands at 724.

NORTH ISLAND ROBIN, TIRITIRI MATANGI ISLAND, NEW ZEALAND

   We can ID this bird as a North Island Robin by its mostly bluish-black color with a grey- white belly.  The North Island Robin is endemic to the New Zealand's  North Island and several of its offshore islands.

   The North Island Robin is a new species to our Photographic Life List, which now stands at 723.
