When we reached New Zealand on this trip, we learned that there the Cormorant is called a Shag.

SILVEREYE, EAGLEBY WETLANDS, EAGLEBY, QUEENSLAND, AUSTRALIA
We can ID this bird as a Silvereye by its conspicuous white ring around the eye, yellow throat and olive-green head.
The Silvereye is a new species to our Photographic Life List, which now stands at 706.

SCALY-BREASTED LORIKEET, CAIRNS, QUEENSLAND, AUSTRALIA
This parrot was in the same tree (outside McDonald's) in Cairns that the Rainbow Lorikeet in the previous post was on. We can ID this parrot as a Scaly-breasted Lorikeet by its plain green head, red bill, green underparts and yellow markings on underparts.
The Scaly-breasted Lorikeet is a new species to our Photographic Life List, which now stands at 705.
