BREEDING MALE RED-BACKED FAIRY-WREN, GRANITE GORGE NATURE PARK, ATHERTON TABLELAND, QUEENSLAND, AUSTRALIA

   We can ID this bird as a breeding male Red-backed Fairy-wren by its black head and body, brightly colored red back and brown wings.
   The Red-backed Fairy-wren is a new species to our Photographic Life List, which now stands at 692.

RAINBOW BEE-EATER, GRANITE GORGE NATURE PARK, ATHERTON TABLELAND, QUEENSLAND, AUSTRALIA

   We can ID this bird as a Rainbow Bee-eater by its long, slender, downcurved bill; golden crown; black stripe through red eye  (if you look closely you can see the red); orange-yellow throat with broad black band separating it from the light green breast and darker green upperparts. 
   The Rainbow Bee-eater is a new species to our Photographic Life List, which now stands at 690.

   We can ID this bird as a female Victoria's Riflebird by its downcurved bill, cinamon underparts that are barred, pale eyebrow and greyish brown above,
   Victoria's Riflebird is a new species to our Photographic Life List, which now stands at 689.
