MALE STRIATED FIELDWREN, WESTERN TREATMENT PLANT, WERRIBEE, VICTORIA, AUSTRALIA

   We can ID this bird as a male Striated Fieldwren by its cocked tail with whitish tip, white eyebrow, white throat, paler below than above with black streaks all over and it's observed continuous back-and-forth movement. 
   The Striated Fieldwren is a new species to our Photographic Life List, which now stands at 670.




FEMALE AUSTRALIAN SHELDUCK, WESTERN TREATMENT PLANT, WERRIBEE, VICTORIA, AUSTRALIA

   In spite of the fact that in the first photo the duck is silueted and in the second photo we can't see its face and bill,  between the two photos we can ID this duck as a female Australian Shelduck by its white around the eye, dark head and neck, white neck collar, chestnut breast and a white ring at the base of the bill. 
   The Australian Shelduck is a new species to our Photographic Life List, which now stands at 669. V

RED-NECKED AVOCET, WESTERN TREATMENT PLANT, WERRIBEE, VICTORIA, AUSTRALIA

   We can ID this avocet as a Red-necked Avocet by its long upcurved bill, rich chestnut color of head and neck, white eye ring and white and black plumage. 
   In the third photo we can also see terns mixed in with the avocets.  These are probably White-winged Black Terns.
   The Red-necked Avocet is a new species to our Photographic Life List, which now stands at 668.






WHITE-WINGED BLACK TERN OR WHITE-WINGED TERN, WESTERN TREATMENT PLANT, WERRIBEE, VICTORIA, AUSTRALIA

   This is the same species of a tern we photographed in Botswana in southern Africa, where it is called the White-winged Tern.



BLACK-TAILED NATIVE-HEN, WESTERN TREATMENT PLANT, WERRIBEE, VICTORIA, AUSTRALIA

   We can ID this rail  as a Black-tailed Native-hen by its large size, bright orange eyes, green frontal shield and upper mandible, red lower mandible, bright pink legs, brownish-grey upperparts and white spots on flank.
   The Black-tailed Native-hen is a new species to our Photographic Life List, which now stands at 667.

CHESTNUT TEAL, WESTERN TREATMENT PLANT, WERRIBEE, VICTORIA, AUSTRALIA

We can ID this duck as a Chestnut Teal by its high forehead, rounded head, white patch on flank and chestnut color where it is not silueted.
   The Chestnut Teal  is a new species to our Photographic Life List, which now stands at 666.
