BREEDING MALE GOLDEN-HEADED CISTICOLA, WESTERN TREATMENT PLANT, WERRIBEE, VICTORIA, AUSTRALIA
We can ID this bird as a breeding male Golden-headed Cisticola by its golden-orange head, paler chin and throat, golden underparts, black streaked upperparts and black tail with paler tips.
The Golden-headed Cisticola is a new species to our Photographic Life List, which now stands at 665.
NONBREEDING RED-NECKED STINT, WESTERN TREATMENT PLANT, WERRIBEE, VICTORIA, AUSTRALIA
We can ID this sandpiper as a nonbreeding Red-necked Stint by its short straight black bill, dark legs, pale grey-brown above, off-white below and dorsal feathers with dark shafts and pale fringes. The Red-necked Stilton in the first photo still has some of the rufous color towards the rear of the breeding bird.
The Red-necked Stilt is a new species to our Photographic Life List, which now stands at 664.

We can ID this sandpiper as a nonbreeding Curlew Sandpiper by its long black downcurved bill, black legs, white underparts, pale gray above and white eyebrow.
The Curlew Sandpiper is a new species to our Photographic Life List, which now stands at 663.
