REFLECTIONS OF A RED- KNEED DOTTEREL, WESTERN TREATMENT PLANT, WERRIBEE, VICTORIA, AUSTRALIA

   We can ID this bird as a Red-kneed Dotterel by its black hood extending to below the eyes and extending down the nape, white chin and throat,  broad black band on breast joining the black on the nape, dark stripe on flank, white underparts and brown upperparts. 
   The Red-kneed Dotterel is a new species to our Photographic Life List, which now stands at 661.







SHARP-TAILED SANDPIPER, WESTERN TREATMENT PLANT, WERRIBEE, VICTORIA, AUSTRALIA

   We can ID this sandpiper as a Sharp-tailed Sandpiper by its chestnut crown, white eyebrow, rufous upperparts with each feather having a black center, black tail and white underparts.
   The Sharp-tailed Sandpiper is a new species to our Photographic Life List, which now stands at 660.

AUSTRALIAN SPOTTED CRAKE, WESTERN TREATMENT PLANT, WERRIBEE, VICTORIA, AUSTRALIA

   We can ID this rail as a Australian Spotted Crake by its brown back speckled white, dark grey face, green bill, orange-red area at base of bill, brown back of neck and white underside of tail. 
   The Australian Spotted Crake is a new species to our Photographic Life List, which now stands at 659.
