BLACK SWAN, WESTERN TREATMENT PLANT, WERRIBEE, VICTORIA, AUSTRALIA

   We can ID this swan as a Black Swan by its black color and bright red bill, paler at the tip, with a narrow white band towards the end.
   The Black Swan is a new species to our Photographic Life List, which now stands at 658.

NONBREEDING HOARY-HEADED GREBE, WESTERN TREATMENT PLANT, WERRIBEE, VICTORIA, AUSTRALIA

We can ID this grebe as a nonbreeding Hoary-headed Grebe by its dark cap extending to below the eye contrasting with the pale side of neck, a black streak down the back of the neck and a fluffy white rear.
   The Hoary-headed Grebe is a new species to our Photographic Life List, which now stands at 657.

ROYAL SPOONBILL, WESTERN TREATMENT PLANT, WERRIBEE, VICTORIA, AUSTRALIA

   We can ID this spoonbill as a Royal Spoonbill by its white color, black spoon-shaped bill, black legs, black facial skin with a yellow patch above the eye and a red patch in the middle of the forehead.
   The Royal Spoonbill is a new species to our Photographic Life List, which now stands at 656.

BLACK KITE IN FLIGHT, VICTORIA, AUSTRALIA

   We can ID this raptor as a Black Kite by its forked tail, angled wings, yellow legs, generally dark plumage and dark eye patch. 
   The Black Kite is a new species to our Photographic Life List, which now stands at 655.




WEDGE-TAILED EAGLE IN FLIGHT, VICTORIA, AUSTRALIA

   We can ID this raptor as a Wedge-tailed Eagle by its wedge shaped tail, long wingspan compared to its size and underwing pattern. 
   The Wedge-tailed Eagle is a new species to our Photographic Life List, which now stands at 654.
