MOLTING PACIFIC GOLDEN-PLOVER, MOMI BAY, VITI LEVU, FIJI
We can ID this plover as a Pacific Golden-Plover molting from breeding to nonbreeding plumage by its speckled black and yellow crown, upperparts and chest; partially white underparts; black face with a white border and forked tail.
The Pacific Golden-Plover is a new species to our Photographic Life List, which now stands at 600.
NONBREEDING GREAT CRESTED TERN, MOMI BAY, VITI LEVU, FIJI
We can ID this tern as a nonbreeding Great Crested Tern by its large size, long yellow bill, short black legs, black crest that is noticeably shaggy at its rear, white forehead, white neck, white crown with dark spotting and grey back and upperwing.
