PIRATIC FLYCATCHER, BRASSO SECO, NORTHERN RANGE, TRINIDAD & TOBAGO

   We can ID this bird as a Piratic Flycatcher by its dark head with yellow patch (you can just make this out in third photo), white superciliary streak, broad white malar area, dark tail and underparts whitish with dark streaks and becoming yellowish on the abdomen.  It is called "piratic" because it takes over the nests of oropendolas and cacaciques. 
   The Piratic Flycatcher is a new species to our Photographic Life List, which now stands at 544.

FEMALE BLACK-THROATED MANGO, BLANCHISSEUSE ROAD, NORTHERN RANGE, TRINIDAD & TOBAGO

   We can ID this hummingbird as a female Black-throated Mango by its white underparts with a black stripe from chin to abdomen and it's slightly smaller size than similar Green-throated Mango.  Also the Black-throated Mango is much more common than the Green-throated Mango.
   The Black-throated Mango is a new species to our Photographic Life List, which now stands at 543.
