YELLOW-RUMPED WARBLER, AROWHON ROAD, ALGONQUIN PROVINCIAL PARK, ON
We can ID this bird as a Yellow-rumped Warbler of the Myrtle variety by its bright yellow shoulder, white throat, black streaks on breast and flanks and blackish base of the tail.
JUVENILE OLIVE-SIDED FLYCATCHER, TURTLE LAKE, GRAVENHURST, ON
We can ID this bird as a juvenile Olive-sided Flycatcher as follows:
- White throat and belly with contrasting dark flanks and dark head.
- Two faint wing bars.
- Heavy bill.
- Slightly notched tail.
- Extended yellow gape indicates this flycatcher is a juvenile.
