We can identify this duck as a Mottled Duck by the black spot on the gape (base of the bill). Also notice the blue speculum with black border.

GREEN-WINGED TEAL, GARGIULO TOMATO FIELD, NAPLES, FL
We can identify these ducks as male Green-winged Teals in breeding plumage as follows:
- Chestnut head and green eye patch
- Grey flanks
- White verticsl bar on side of breasts
NORTHERN PINTAIL, GARGIULO TOMATO FIELD, NSPLES, FL
This duck can be identified as a male Northern Pintail in breeding plumage by the following:
- Chocolate brown head
- White chest with white extending up neck in thin line
The Northern Pintail is a new species to our Life List, which now stands at 254.
