COMMON BLACK HAWK, TARCOLES RIVER, TARCOLES, COSTA RICA
The first photo is of an adult Common Black Hawk and the second of a juvenile. The Mangrove Black Hawk, traditionally considered a distinct species, is now generally considered a subspecies.
The Common Black Hawk is a new species to our Life List, which now stands at 222.
