COMMON TERNS TRYING TO STEAL A FISH, PORT CREDIT, ON
Here are three Common Terns in flight. One of them has just caught a fish and the other two are trying to steal it. They followed the tern with the fish for quite awhile, until they gave up.
DABBLING MUTE SWAN, LAKE ONTARIO, PORT CREDT, ON
Mute Swans feed by dabbling, similarly to dabbling ducks. They tip forward and extend their long neck into the water. They have small tooth-like edges on the inside of their bills to grasp vegetation.

The first photo is of a juvenile Mute Swan or cygnet. The second photo is of the cygnet with its parents.

COMMON TERN AT CREDIT RIVER, PORT CREDIT, ON
We identified this as a Common Tern by the following:
- Small size (about 12")
- Red bill with black tip
- Its call: high pitched "kit"
- Its long tail
