BLUE-WINGED WARBLER, LOXAHATCHEE NATIONAL WILDLIFE REFUGE, BOYNTON BEACH, FLORIDA, 1/2/2024 - NEW SPECIES TO LIFE LIST
We can ID this bird as a Blue-winged Warbler as follows:
- Bright yellow with blue-gray wings
- Yellowish wing bars
- Small, sharp bill
- Black eye line
- White undertail coverts
- In the last two photos, the bird is foraging on the tree upside down. Blue-winged Warblers often do this to pick insects from leaves.
The Blue-winged Warbler is a new species to our ebird Photographic Life List.
