MALE COZUMEL EMERALD, 1752 AVENIDA LICIENCIADO PEDRO JOAQUIN COLDWELL, COZUMEL, QUINTANA ROO, MEXICO, 12/10/2024 - NEW SPECIES TO LIFE LIST

   We can ID this hummingbird as a male Cozumel Emerald as follows:
  • It was identified as a Cozumel Emerald by Merlin photo ID.
  • Bill is red with black tip.
  • Emerald-green underparts (can't see upperparts).
  • Long, deeply forked, dark blue tail
   The Cozumel Emerald is endemic to the island of Cozumel off the coast of Mexico's Yucatan Peninsula.  It is a new species to our ebird Photographic Life List.
