SEDGE WARBLER, KROMSLOOTPARK, HAVENDREFF, ALMERE, NETHERLANDS, 7/23/2024 -NEW LIFE SPECIES

   We can ID this bird as a Sedge Warbler as follows:
  • Distinct whitish supercilium that extends well beyond dark eye and contrasts with dark sides of crown
  • Ear coverts have yellowish wash
  • Whitish chin and throat
  • Dark upper mandible of bill and yellowish-brown lower mandible with pinkish base (you can just make out the pink in first photo)
  • Dark wings
  • Yellowish-brown rump
  • Gray underparts with some yellowish wash
   The Sedge Warbler is a new species to our ebird Photographic Life List.
