We can ID this kingfisher as a Common Kingfisher (also called Eurasion Kingfisher or River Kingfisher) as follows:
- Blue crown, nape and side of neck with white patch between nape and side of neck
- White throat
- Face has black eye stripe, rufous loral spot and rufous ear-coverts
- Brilliant azure-blue back and tail and blue wings with pale blue spots
- Rufous underparts
- Long bill
- Red legs and feet
The Common Kingfisher is a new species to our ebird Photographic Life List.
