MALE MALLARD MOLTING FROM BREEDING TO NONBREEDING PLUMAGE & SHOWING SPECULUM, ASHBRIDGES BAY, TORONTO, ONTARIO, 6/14/2024

   In the second photo you can really make out the speculum of the Mallard.  The speculum is the blue patch located on the secondary wing feathers or remiges of the duck.
