We can ID this pigeon as a Bare-eyed Pigeon as follows:
- The eye has an extraordinary bull's-eye appearance and is a great field mark. The dark eye is surrounded by concentric pale and dark eye rings.
- The second good field mark is the broad white patch at the edge of the closed wing. This really contrasts with the darker wings and under parts.
- Pink bill
- Head, neck and under parts are grayish with pinkish blush.
- Pink legs
The Bare-eyed Pigeon is a new species to our ebird Photographic Life List. Our ebird Life List now stands at 1,135.
