We can ID this pigeon as a Scaly-naped Pigeon as follows:
- Red eye broadly framed by orange-peach orbital skin.
- Large size.
- Pink legs.
- Two-toned bill: purple at the base and a cream tip.
- Darkish overall with scally nape and neck sides.
The Scaly-necked Pigeon is found in most islands of the Caribbean, except Jamaica and the Bahamas. It is a very rare vagrant to Florida.
