MILITARY MACAW, PORT OASIS ECO PARK, CRUISE PORT, CARTAGENA, COLUMBIA, 12/7/2023 - NEW LIFE SPECIES
We can ID this macaw as a Military Macaw as follows:
- Mostly green with blue flight feathers.
- Bright red patch on forehead.
- Face is white and pinkish in color with black striations and red dots.
- Large, strong, gray bill.
- Tail is blue and red above.
The Military Macaw is a new species to our ebird Photographic Life List. Our ebird Life List now stands at 1,086.

The Chestnut-fronted Macaw has been on our ebird Life List as a provisional since 12/19/2020 when it was sighted and photographed at Brewer Park in S. Miami, Florida. It has now been upgraded to Native/Naturalized since it was seen and photographed on 12/7/2023 in Cartagena, Columbia.
