We can ID this bird as a male Slaty Flowerpiercer as follows:
- Upper mandible of bill is noticebly hooked and lower mandible is upturned (see 2nd photo)
- Overall plain gray, with head, wings we can see and tail a darker gray than light gray underparts
- Dark eyes
The Slaty Flowerpiercer is a new species to our Photographic Life List, which now stands at 1,045.
