Even though the lighting is very poor, we can ID this hummingbird as a male Blue-throated Goldentail as follows:
- Straight, red bill with black tip that is broad at base
- Greenish crown
- Blue-violet face and throat
- Buffy belly
- Because of the poor, light the tail looks mostly greenish, but you can make out some golden hues
The Blue-throated Goldentail is a new species to our Photographic Life List, which now stands at 1,061.
