AGAMI HERON, CAHUITA NATIONAL PARK ENTRANCE, LIMON PROVINCE, COSTA RICA, 10/6/2022

   We can ID this heron as a Agami Heron as follows:

• Very long, thin bill
• Pale blue crown
• Dark face with whitish chin and pale eye ring
• Long irredescent violet and dark blue neck with light blue feathers at bottom
• Irredescent dark blue, light blue and violet upperparts

   The Agami Heron is a new species to our Photographic Life List, which now stands at 1,054.
