SNOWY EGRET WITH LORE IN BRIGHT REDDISH COURTSHIP COLOR, NAPLES BOTANICAL GARDEN, NAPLES, FLORIDA, 4/12/2022

   In early spring adult herons and egrets develop much brighter lores and/or bill.  In the case of the Snowy Egret the normal yellow lore turns bright reddish.  This courtship color lasts for only a few days.
