We can ID this parakeet as a Blue-crowned Parakeet as follows:
- Overall green bird with dull blue crown and face
- White orbital ring around eye
- Long pointed tail
- Legs are pinkish with brown claws
The Blue-crowned Parakeet is native to large parts of South America, from Eastern Columbia in the north to northern Argentina in the south. These parakeets have been introduced to urban area of south Florida, California and Hawaii.
The Blue-crowned Parakeet is a new species to our Photographic Life List, which now stands at 1,016.
