RARE BLUE/PURPLE-HEADED MALE MALLARD, DUCK PONDS,HIGH PARK,TORONTO,ONTARIO, 4/22/2020

   The great majority of Mallards in breeding plumage have iridescent green heads and necks.  A Mallard with an iridescent blue/purple head and neck, such as in the photos below, is a rare variant.
