ROYAL TERNS MOLTING FROM NONBREEDING TO BREEDING PLUMAGE, US 41 BETWEEN SAN MARCO RD & MARSH TRAIL,COLLIER COUNTY,FLORIDA, 2/22/2020

      Nonbreeding Royal Terns have a white forehead and black crown, while in breeding Royal Terns, both the crown and forehead are black.  In these Royal Terns the foreheads are partially black as they are molting from nonbreeding to breeding plumage.
