We can ID this lapwing as a Northern Lapwing as follows:
- Black crown with long wispy crest
- Black and white face with some chestnut tinge
- Rear crown and nape tinged chestnut
- White foreneck
- Iridescent green and purple on dark upperparts
- White underparts, except for black breast
- Straight black bill
The Northern Lapwing is a new species to our Photographic Life List, which now stands at 948.
