We can ID this sandpiper as a nonbreeding Black-tailed Godwit as follows:
- Long, very slightly upcurved bill is pink towards base and black towards tip
- Grey legs
- Uniform (no baring) brownish upperparts, head, neck and breast
- Whitish belly
The Black-tailed Godwit is a new species to our Photographic Life List, which now stands at 924.
