We never expected to see this Common Nighthawk, but as we were driving back from Passamaquoddy Sweetgrass Trail to Heartwood Lodge, our birding guide, Doug Hitchcock, who was driving, sighted this nighthawk in the sky. We pulled over and luckily it was circling around the area, so I was able to photograph it. As we continued driving, we saw other Common Nighthawks flying by.
Distinctive white wing bar shows nicely on your flight photos:) I usually hear them at dusk & barely see the shape.
