We can ID this hummingbird as a male Green Hermit as follows:
- Blue-green upperparts (we can't see underparts). How much is blue or green depends on the lighting.
- Very long, reddish, downcurved bill.
- Long, graduated tail in which the central pair of feathers are elongated and white-tipped.
- Dark mask through the eye with buff stripes above and below.
The Green Hermit is a new species to our Photographic Life List, which now stands at 874.
