We can ID this flycatcher as a Yellow-bellied Flycatcher as follows:
- Small size
- Strong white eyering
- Two whitish wingbars strongly contrast with black wings
- Greenish chest and pale-yellow belly. It should be noted that wintering birds, such as this one, do not have as much yellow as breeding ones
- Upper mandible of bill is dark, while lower mandible is pinkish
- Wings and tail which are darker than rest of upperparts, which are greenish
The Yellow-bellied Flycatcher is a new species to our Photographic Life List, which now stands at 833.
